Sunpreet Dhalla
Sunpreet joins the Calgary office of Dolden Wallace Folick LLP as an Articled Student following the completion of her Juris Doctor (with High Honors) from the University of North Dakota School of Law. Sunpreet also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Manitoba.
During her first year of law school, Sunpreet received the UND Academic Excellence Scholarship. In her second year, she received the Thomasgard Scholarship, William J Holland Foundation Law Scholarship, and the Public Interest Law Student Scholarship. In her third year, she received the Thomasgard Scholarship, and the Lillian Elsinga Outstanding Student Leader Award.
Sunpreet has received numerous highest-grade awards including Constitutional Law, Family Law, Intensive Legal Writing & Research, Housing Discrimination, and Dean’s List for Academic Distinction from 2019-2022.
Sunpreet was involved in various student organizations throughout law school. She served as Vice President for the International Human Rights Organization, Class Representative for the UND Law Honor Board, and Class Representative for the Canadian Student Law Organization. She also was a member in the Business Law Association, and the Criminal Law Association.
In 2020, Sunpreet worked as a judicial law clerk for the Northeast Judicial District Court. She worked for her assigned judge in a wide range of civil and criminal proceedings. In 2021, Sunpreet worked the University of Manitoba Law Clinic representing clients in various complex criminal matters and analyzed other preliminary issues involving family and immigration consequences. In 2021, Sunpreet also spent time volunteering for the North Dakota Bar Association to help draft the new by-laws for the Bar Association. In 2022, Sunpreet worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of North Dakota School of Law and helped teach the Intensive Legal Reading, Writing, and Analysis course for second-year law students.
