Corey Smith
Corey Smith’s litigation practice encompasses a broad range of insurance related matters including personal injury, property damage, occupier’s liability and professional negligence. Corey has appeared before BC’s Supreme Court and Provincial Court. His experience includes:
- The defence of a wide range of claims relating to property loss and damage.
- The defence of a variety of personal injury claims including Occupiers’ Liability Act claims.
- The defence of claims arising from alleged defects in design and manufacture.
- The prosecution of subrogated actions including those arising from fire losses and floods.
In addition, Corey has written articles summarizing recent court decisions relating to releases and municipal core policy decisions.
Prior to practicing law, Corey obtained an undergraduate and graduate degree in English Literature from the University of British Columbia. While attending law school, Corey was a volunteer with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program.
