Health Care Costs Recovery Act Comes into Force

British Columbia’s new Health Care Costs Recovery Act, S.B.C. 2008, c. 27, comes into force today.  The statute gives the Provincial Government a variety of powers allowing it to recover amounts the Government pays to health care providers on behalf of people who are wrongfully injured.  The Act will likely have a significant impact on personal injury litigation in this Province.
