We are pleased to announce the addition of two new partners in our Toronto office. These lawyers bring with them a wealth of experience and knowledge in litigation and the insurance industry.

Chris brings 26 years of insurance defence litigation experience to the Dolden Wallace Folick partnership. His experience includes acting as defence counsel in construction disputes, professional liability disputes, claims involving directors and officers, property claims and EPL claims. Chris also has extensive experience defending a variety of class actions.
Chris was called to the Ontario Bar in 1994 and has extensive trial experience. He has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario including appearing in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal.
Chris has been involved in several presentations to our insurer clients. These presentations include claims against professionals such as architects, engineers and insurance brokers, claims relating to directors and officers, EPL claims, Human Rights claims and class action claims. Chris is pragmatic and efficient, but also strategic when handling claims. He understands the importance of each step of the litigation process while at all times keeping in mind his clients’ interests and objectives.

Brett is a well-rounded insurance lawyer acting on behalf of numerous prominent domestic and international insurers, including many London market clients. In 2019, Brett was seconded to several major London market underwriting firms, providing support and claims handling services to cyber and specialty lines claims teams.
Brett’s diverse practice includes providing defence and coverage services to a variety of clients. Brett has significant experience in defending professional negligence, employment practice, construction, hospitality, products liability, property, automobile, sports and recreation claims and in regulatory defence matters. Brett also acts as breach coach and privacy counsel for cyber related claims.
Recently, Brett was successful at the Ontario Court of Appeal in upholding the finding of the motion judge that Lloyd’s Underwriters had a subrogated right to enforce mortgage proceedings against the Plaintiffs. Brett’s clients were entirely successful and awarded costs.
