Matt McMahon
Prior to joining Dolden Wallace Folick in 2021, Matt worked at a regional firm in southwestern Ontario with a focus on insurance litigation. He is looking forward to establishing the firm’s Guelph office and to continue to provide top quality representation to insurers with matters throughout southwestern Ontario and beyond.
Matt is a proud graduate of the University of Guelph and the University of Saskatchewan College of Law. Since being called to the bar in 2017, Matt has practiced exclusively in litigation with a focus on insurance defence. He has represented insureds and insurers in a wide range of matters. Matt has represented clients at all levels of court in Ontario and has assisted with matters in various other provinces.

Commercial General Liability
Matt has worked with insurers and insured parties to defend against a range of liability exposures arising out of commercial general liability.
Construction
Matt has acted for insurers to defend a wide range of contractors and sub-contractors in various construction disputes. He has been involved in claims arising from construction projects of all sizes and complexity.
Coverage
Matt has assisted insurers defend against duty to defence applications in complex coverage disputes.
Fraud
Matt works hand in hand with special investigations units to identify and defend against complex and organized attempts to defraud insurers. He has defended against fraudulently inflated claims and claims involving arson, staged water losses, staged accidents, robbery and break and enter.
Property Specialty
Matt has defended insureds and insurers in all sorts of property damage related claims, including fire losses, water losses, construction deficiencies and business interruption claims.
Subrogation
Matt has advanced subrogated claims on behalf of insurers, with a particular emphasis in matters involving property damage including fire, flood and water losses, and first party claims.
