Janice Finney (She/Her)
Janice joined Dolden Wallace Folick as an associate in 2020, after practicing with a boutique insurance litigation firm in Toronto.
Janice obtained her J.D. from the University of Ottawa, graduating Cum Laude in 2018. While at law school, Janice was actively involved with the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program and represented low-income Ottawa residents and students as a caseworker with the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic. Janice previously obtained her B.A. (Honours) in Psychology from York University.

MUNICIPAL DEFENCE
Janice has defended municipalities in a variety of personal injury matters.
OCCUPIERS’ LIABILITY AND HOSPITALITY AND LIQUOR LIABILITY
Janice has acted as defence counsel for owners and winter maintenance contractors in lawsuits involving personal injury arising from alleged breaches of the Occupiers’ Liability Act. She has also defended restaurants, bars, and security companies against claims involving forcible ejection, over-service, and assault.
SPORTS AND RECREATION LIABILITY
Janice has defended recreational activity and festival organizers against personal injury claims.
PROPERTY AND CONSTRUCTION CLAIMS
Janice has experience in insurance defence litigation involving property damage, faulty workmanship, and water leakage. She also has experience in defending claims arising from construction projects including the defence of subcontractors, engineers, and home inspectors.
