Darren was called to the Bar in South Africa in 2012, and after successfully completing his articles with Dolden Wallace Folick he joined the firm as an associate in 2021. Darren has gained several years’ experience in insurance litigation both locally and internationally. Darren has defended clients in a broad range of insurance related matters, including property losses, professional conduct matters, director and officer liability, and a wide range of bodily injury matters.
Prior to joining Dolden Wallace Folick, Darren worked at a boutique litigation law firm in Nova Scotia, and prior to that was corporate counsel for a major international shipping line, representing the company in commercial litigation, construction litigation, insurance litigation, and maritime litigation. Darren’s past experience includes retaining and managing legal vendors to assist with overflow litigation, and so he is keenly aware of the challenges and opportunities that his clients are presented with daily when working with legal counsel.
When not at the office, you will find Darren adventuring in the Canadian Rockies. If you’re ever in the area please reach out to him because he thoroughly enjoys acting as tour guide. He enjoys hiking, kayaking, and camping.
